Beginning Week 5 of 1/2 Marathon Training!

Actually, this morning/afternoon I actually ran my 5 Mile run that was supposed to be yesterday.  I'd forgotten about the time change, and my normal time for running it was DARK!  After last week's run, I know that this neighborhood is way too active on the roads for me to be comfortable to continue running in the dark on a Saturday night.

So I ran today, and was it ever WINDY!!  Here is a link to my 5 mile run today.  The wind was shown as anywhere between 17MPH and gusting up to 31MPH!  It took a lot of extra effort to keep on pace when that wind was hitting me right in the face.  The temp was a warm 60 degrees, but when that wind would gust up to 31, it sure would cut right through me!

My cousin, his wife and son all ran in the Outer Banks Half Marathon!  They entered last minute!  I'm looking at 9 more weeks till my half marathon and cannot even comprehend just entering into a thing like this last minute!

Here is this weeks training schedule, bumping up long distance on Saturday to 6 miles!

On the weight loss, I'm still struggling to make much progress.  All of the reading I've been doing, it could possibly be that I'm not getting enough calories and my body is actually going into a "starvation" mode.  I'm trying to keep better track of my food intake with, of course, and app on the iPhone.  I'd wanted to be around 220# by the time the Half Marathon came around, but it's now looking like I may not make that, since I've been stuck in the 240's pretty much since vacation back at the beginning of September!

Week Date Kipp Weekly% Overall%

The good news is that I'm now able to get into my 40 inch pants... bad news is I've only got a couple pair at this size!  My old 42's and 44's are just starting to look really bad on me now!  My 2XL Polo and T-Shirts are also starting to look really baggy on me too.  Since I'm not one to easily throw things away, I've got plenty of XL t-shirts... but the work Polo's are another thing.  Just what I didn't need right now, to buy a new wardrobe!!  I've still got about $175 to come up with to finish paying off my room for the Marathon Weekend.  Gotta have that paid off by the middle of December.  *STRESS*

I still haven't found a waist pouch to wear for the race either.  I want to take my small point & shoot camera along with me on the run, plus somewhere to put a few items.  With my Saturday runs are also getting longer, I need to take a look at getting some GU or CliffShots for some extra energy on the run.  Disney seems to link up with the CliffShots people, so I may look into getting something from them to try on my next long run to see how my body takes it.  Disney also pairs up with the Powerade people, instead of Gatorade (probably because Pepsi owns Gatorade and they're locked in with Coca-cola, which makes the Powerade product).

Again, I intended this blog to be part of my accountability in this weight loss, so I'm going to try and post more regularly like I was before!

Thanks for Reading!  Regards,
